Grange has over 30 years of financial industry experience, particularly in event driven and credit strategies. He founded and led alternative investment firms, including a distressed/special situations fund manager.

Grange Johnson, Deputy Chief Investment Officer & Managing Director: Prior to joining Appomattox in April 2023, Grange accumulated 30+ years of experience in the financial community including founding and leading two private investment management firms specialized in distressed and special situation equities. He also served as Managing Director of Investment Banking at BTIG, previously as Managing Director at GAMCO Investors where he built a distressed securities business, and earlier as a research analyst at Perry Partners. Grange spent his formative business years in Merrill Lynch’s restructuring group and at McKinsey & Co. advising Fortune 100 companies on operational turnarounds. Grange earned a BA from Brown University and an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he served as a guest lecturer on event driven investing.
